Facts and practical information
The Aran Valley Museum is a regional museum dedicated to the history, art, ethnography and ethnology of the Aran Valley. Based in Viella, it is located in a late Gothic manor house called Tor deth Generau Martinhon. It also occupies the Joanchiquet House in Vilamós and the church of San Juan de Artiés.
Its main objective is to preserve the Aranese culture in all its fields, through the different stages and periods of the Aran Valley. Its museographic discourse explains the history of the valley from the Bronze Age to the beginning of the 21st century. In 2008 it became part of the Network of Ethnological Museums of Catalonia.
