Castillo del Abaluartado, is located in the town of San Leonardo de Yagüe. It has a different layout from that of medieval castles because it is a 16th century bastioned manor building.

Erected in 1563 by Don Juan Manrique de Lara y Cardona and his wife Doña Ana Fajardo, Dukes of Nájera and Counts of Treviño, whose names appear on the remains of an inscription. The nobleman, as well as his granddaughter Doña Juana, were buried in the parish church of San Leonardo.
