The convent of the Incarnation is a cloistered convent of Carmelite nuns located in the Spanish city of Ávila, in the autonomous community of Castile and León. This convent became known because Saint Teresa of Jesus entered it in 1535, where she was first a nun and then mother prioress, before beginning the foundations of convents of her new religious order: the Order of the Discalced Carmelites.
It has been expressly declared a World Heritage Site in 1985, as an individual element of the old city of Avila and churches outside the walls.
