Castillo de la Yedra, Cazorla
Facts and practical information
The castle of La Yedra is an ancient enclave of defensive origin located in the Spanish municipality of Cazorla. It is situated at the bottom of the hill of Salvatierra, above the Cerezuelo River, in the province of Jaén. It is a construction that dates from the Berber period, although it was finished as we know it today by the Castilians. From its enclave, 831 metres above sea level, you can see the town of Cazorla and its surroundings.
In its architecture there are several Muslim features, although over the centuries the Christians finished giving it its definitive configuration, so the Gothic style predominates.
