Refugi Estany Llong, Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park

The Estany Llong hut is a mountain hut in the Pyrenees, at an altitude of 1985 m, located next to the Sant Nicolau river, about two hundred metres west of the mouth of Estany Llong lake, in the Bohí valley, in the Alta Ribagorza region.
The refuge is located on the Carros de Foc route, a 55 km hike that covers all the refuges in the Aiguas Tortas i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park. From the north it is accessed from the Ventosa i Calvell refuge, through the Contraix pass, at 2750 m, and from the south from the Colomina refuge, through the Dellui pass, at 2577 m. Both are very long stages, between 4 and 6 hours.
The shelter, which sleeps 47, is only open when it is in storage. It has showers, central heating and fireplace, blankets and mattresses.
When it is not in storage, it is closed and in its place the ten-seater Centraleta hut is opened as a free refuge, at the confluence of the river Nicolau and the river Contraix, one kilometre further down, at an altitude of 1913m.
