The church of Santa María, is a religious temple of Catholic worship under the invocation of Our Lady, the Virgin Mary in the town of Yermo, municipality of Cartes, autonomous community of Cantabria, in Spain.
It was declared a Monument of the National Artistic Treasure by Royal Order of 4th July 1930. Subsequently, it came to be considered an "Asset of Cultural Interest" by virtue of the first additional provision of Law 16/1985, of 25th June, on Spanish Historical Heritage. The area of protection of this Site of Cultural Interest was declared by Decree 89/2002, of 1st August.
