Viñuelas Castle is a fortified palace located in the municipality of Madrid, within the area known as Soto de Viñuelas and integrated into the Cuenca Alta del Manzanares regional park.
Although its first references date back to 1285, the current construction dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. The building shows transformations, carried out in the 20th century, for its conditioning as a place for celebrations and conventions. Both the castle and the surrounding hill are in private hands.
At the end of the Spanish Civil War it was the official residence of General Franco after leaving Burgos in mid-October 1939.
