The monastery of Santa María de Bujedo, also known as the monastery of Santa María de Bujedo de Candepajares, is located in the municipality of Bujedo, Burgos, on the border with La Rioja, 9 km southwest of Miranda de Ebro and 4 km north of Foncea.
It was founded by Doña Sancha Díaz de Frías in 1162 and sponsored by King Alfonso VIII of Castile of Las Navas, who granted it numerous lands. It belonged to the abbey of San Cristóbal de Ibeas de Juarros, belonging to the Premonstratensian Order. In the architectural ensemble there are three Romanesque apses at the head of the church, the central one is higher and wider, while the side ones are smaller and semicircular.
