The palace of Velarde in Oviedo is a Baroque style palace dated 1765 and the work of the architect Manuel Reguera González from Candas, one of the most outstanding Asturian architects of all times. The building was intended for Pedro Velarde, alderman of Oviedo.
Of this building it is worth mentioning its main façade facing Santa Ana street, its splendid garden and its inner courtyard with a square section and two arches on each side supported by Tuscan columns. It also has an imperial style staircase that leads to the gallery on the first floor from where you can access the corridor that opens onto the lower courtyard. It is one of the three buildings that occupies the Museum of Fine Arts of Asturias.
