Facts and practical information
The natural park of Corralejo is a Spanish protected area on the island of Fuerteventura. It has more than 2600 hectares. It was classified as a natural park in 1994.
The Corralejo Dunes are located in the north of the island, in the municipality of La Oliva. They are the main tourist attraction of the island, after its white sandy beaches. They are the biggest dunes of the Canary Archipelago.
These large dunes have an organic origin as they come from the disintegration and pulverization of mollusc shells and other marine organisms with external skeleton.
