The statue of Fernando de Valdés Salas, located in the cloister of the University of Oviedo, which he founded, on San Francisco Street, in the city of Oviedo, Principality of Asturias, Spain, is one of more than a hundred urban sculptures that adorn the streets of the aforementioned Spanish city.
The urban landscape of this city is adorned by sculptural works, generally commemorative monuments dedicated to important people at first, and more purely artistic since the late twentieth century.
The sculpture, made of metal, is the work of Cipriano Folgueras Doiztúa, and is dated September 21, 1908.
