The church of San Andrés de Ponferrada is located at the foot of the castle of Ponferrada, in the region of El Bierzo. It began to be built at the end of the 17th century.
Inside is the main altarpiece in Baroque style, the work of José Ovalle and Andrés de Benavente, and the Cristo de la Fortaleza, taken there from the chapel of the castle. In this church in Ponferrada you can also find some of the most famous Easter processions.
