Facts and practical information

The Estepar is the highest peak of the Sierra del Hoyo de Manzanares, a mountainous alignment located on the periphery of the Sierra de Guadarrama, 3 km from it. It is located in the northwest of the Community of Madrid, between the municipalities of Cerceda, Moralzarzal, Collado Villalba and Hoyo de Manzanares. It has an altitude of 1403 meters and is within the Regional Park of the Cuenca Alta del Manzanares.

The slopes of this mountain are dotted with large rocks and granite cliffs and covered with holm oaks, stone pines and oaks, cork oaks and Mediterranean shrubs, among which are the rockrose and broom.
