The marine reserve of Cabo de Palos and Islas Hormigas is a protected underwater natural space located in Cartagena, and covers a territory of about 19 km² between the lighthouse of Cabo de Palos and the Hormigas Islands. It is characterized by its great biological diversity and the good state of conservation of its seabed. The large meadows of posidonia and the colonies of corals that form the habitat of numerous plant and animal species are very remarkable.
