Sierra de Gibalbín

Sierra of the province of Cádiz located in the municipality of Jerez de la Frontera. It has a height of 410 m, indicated by a geodesic vertex. On its summit there are several communication facilities.

Surrounded by plains, corresponding to the valleys of the Guadalquivir and the Guadalete, it offers a vantage point from which to view an enormous 360° extension. Thus, at the top, you can see a complete view of the city of Jerez and its surroundings: from the nearby plains of Nueva Jarilla, the airport and the Seville-Cádiz motorway, the extensive city centre and the Sierra de San Cristóbal to the great towers and porticoes of the shipyards of the Bay of Cadiz. It can also be seen, towards the north, to the Port of Seville, so it seems that the Sierra de Gibalbín was a strategic place as an intermediate point between this port and the port of Cadiz.
