Iglesia de la Concepción, La Orotava
Facts and practical information
The Parroquia Matriz de Nuestra Señora de la Concepción is the best example of Baroque in the Canary Islands, it is located in the Villa de La Orotava on the island of Tenerife. It is one of the most lavish temples of the island, which is why it is popularly called the "Basilica or Cathedral of La Orotava" for its composition and dimensions, although it is neither of these. Its most characteristic element is its dome, whose design is inspired by the dome of the Cathedral of Florence in Italy. The temple is since June 18, 1948, National Historic-Artistic Monument.
