Facts and practical information
The church of Santa María de las Flores de Hornachuelos, of late Gothic style, is located inside the old walled perimeter, in the highest point of the town, very close to the castle. Its existence as a parish church dates back to the conquest of the place in 1240 by King Ferdinand III. The building preserved today shows the existence of a very primitive church, whose construction took advantage of Roman and Muslim elements, and the temple built in the early years of the sixteenth century following a characteristic typology of a single nave with sections separated by pointed arches of wide span.
