The urban sculpture known as Amigos, located in the Plaza Juan XXIII, in the city of Oviedo, Principality of Asturias, Spain, is one of more than a hundred that adorn the streets of the aforementioned Spanish city.
The urban landscape of this city, is adorned by sculptural works, generally commemorative monuments dedicated to characters of special relevance at first, and more purely artistic since the late twentieth century.
The sculpture, made in bronze, is the work of Santiago de Santiago, and is dated 1993. It represents a naked man and a woman holding hands in an affectionate attitude of great affection. The figures have soft curves and in the dark bronze polished and shiny in which they are made. Forming part of the sculpture there is a fine square platform, of the same material, that presents a legend: In addition it is placed on a stony platform as a pedestal that in turn presents another plate with an inscription in which it can be read: "STATUE DONATED TO THE CITY OF OVIEDO BY THE SCULPTOR SANTIAGO DE SANTIAGO 1993".
