The church of Santa María is located in the town of Piasca belonging to the municipality of Cabezón de Liébana, in the Autonomous Community of Cantabria. It belonged to the disappeared monastery of Santa María la Real and constitutes one of the most remarkable testimonies of the Cantabrian Romanesque art. It was declared a National Monument on 4th July 1930.
