The urban sculpture known by the name La Dama del balcón, located in Parque Oeste, in the city of Oviedo, Principality of Asturias, Spain, is one of more than a hundred that adorn the streets of the aforementioned Spanish city.
The urban landscape of this city, is adorned by sculptural works, generally commemorative monuments dedicated to characters of special relevance at first, and more purely artistic since the late twentieth century.
The sculpture, made in marble, is the work of José Antonio Nava Iglesias, and is dated 2002, the date that appears on the bronze sign that accompanies the statue, but although there is no official inauguration date, there are authors who date it in 2003.
The sculpture, which measures about two and a half meters, was acquired by the Green Belt Society of Oviedo, which later donated it to the city.
