The Museo de Tapices de la Seo de Zaragoza is a tapestry museum located in the former archive of the Seo de Zaragoza.
The Museum exhibits part of the important collection, made up of 63 tapestries from the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries, woven in the famous European workshops of Arrás, Tournai and Brussels. Some of the tapestries were donated to the Chapter by archbishops of Zaragoza such as Alonso de Aragón or Andrés Santos, some of them coming from the royal collections of the Aragonese monarchs. The museum allows to contemplate different periods of evolution of the tapestry art, so it can be considered one of the most relevant and complete collections in the international field. The Museum was founded in 1932 and currently has three permanent exhibition rooms and a storage room, where you can also see various pieces of gold and silver work, paintings, sacred ornaments, sculptures, etc. The rest of the tapestries of the collection, some of them still unrestored, are kept in a storeroom located in the Museum itself.
