The church of Santa María la Real in Aranda de Duero was built between the 15th century and the 16th century.
In 2014 it hosted the 19th edition of the Las Edades del Hombre series of exhibitions together with the Church of San Juan, also located in the centre of the city. The exhibitions coincided with the V centenary of the completion of the Elizabethan Gothic façade of the Church of Santa María la Real, completed according to experts between 1514 and 1516. During its more than seven months of duration, the exhibition attracted more than 300,000 visitors.
