Real Casino de Murcia, Murcia

Casino in Murcia - a historic, multi -yl, eclectic building of the former club for the city elites in Murcia, located in the very center of the city, at Calle Trapería 18.

The building was commissioned on June 11, 1847, and in 1902 it was given the current, splendor -full shape. It combines various architectural trends, from the Mudyjar style, through references to Baroque, to classical solutions. The accumulation of some details in part of the rooms is very significant, it gives the impression of horror vacui. However, other rooms and rooms are erected with classic calmness and stability.

The most important rooms in the casino are: Galería Central - a long, glazed hall from the top, fastening the whole assumption, the Library of Ingles with shelves intricately poured with cast iron, staircase and flamingo -shaped brackets, Congresillo - meeting room, Salón de Baile, antessala with paintings of Sánchez Picazo and Gila Montijano, Tocador de Señoras, Salón de Armas - a room for women's toilet, Salón de Té, acting as a tea room and cafes, La Exedra - a type of vestibule from which you could look at a significant part of the casino - there is a nineteenth -century replica of the lady from Elche, Podka Pompeyano - a classic room decorated with sculptures, Patio azul y Sala de Billar - a space partly rearranged in 2006-2009 for the needs of prestigious meetings, Alta room - used for different about the type of exhibitions and artistic presentations.

The whole casino was renovated in 2006-2009 and made available to tourists. Admission is paid.
