The Castle of the Eagle, also called Gaucín Castle, is a fortress located in the Malaga municipality of Gaucín, Spain. It receives this name because the presence of birds of prey is frequent. It is a castle built in the Andalusian period and rebuilt several times later. The wall, the keep, the cisterns and an escape mine are preserved. Guzmán el Bueno died in the surroundings of the castle in 1309, when he was trying to conquer it from the Arabs. In it we can find the Hermitage of the Santo Niño. In the area you can find a large number of eagles, hence the name.
