Facts and practical information
Kyrkhärbret i Älvdalen is a timber house at the vicarage south of Älvdalen's church, which is dendrochronologically dated to 1285.
The churchyard was Sweden's oldest secular wooden building until 2008, when the tithe barn in Ingatorp in Småland turned out to be half a century older. Since then, the fire house at Zorn's old farm has also been dated, making Kyrkhärbret in Älvdalen the third oldest preserved and dated "secular" timber building in Sweden and the second oldest in Dalarna. The tithe from the parish was stored in the hermitage.
