Birgit Nilsson Museum is a museum in Birgit Nilsson's childhood home in Svenstad, Västra Karup near Båstad in Skåne. It was built in accordance with her own wishes. The inauguration was officiated by Carl Johan Bernadotte.
Visitors can take a guided tour of the house where Birgit Nilsson grew up. On display are finely preserved furniture, clothes, jewellery, photographs and other private belongings from her life and opera career.
In addition, you can also see temporary exhibitions organised in the courtyard's annexes. Among other things, paintings by Birgit Nilsson and jewellery from her many surgical tours have been on display. You can also listen to recordings, watch film clips and visit the museum shop.
