Karlstads turistbyrå, Karlstad
Facts and practical information
Bibliotekshuset is the name of a building in Karlstad designed by Janne Feldt and inaugurated in 1973. In addition to the Karlstad City Library, the building houses several activities. Karlstad Municipality has part of its administrative offices in the Library Building. The building also houses the municipal archives and the Arena, a combined film and theatre hall. The contact centre, Europa Direkt Karlstad, Karlstadsrummet and a café are located on the ground floor.
Per Thorlin and Inger Sitter were responsible for the artistic decoration. Thorlin has made two works in blasted concrete: Livsströmmen and Källan. The first is 47 metres long and runs along the outer façade of the building, while the second is divided into three and adorns three of the building's corners. Sitter made the interior decorations.
