Blåhammarens Fjällstation

Blåhammaren mountain station is the highest mountain station of the Swedish Tourist Association and lies 1086 metres above sea level. The mountain station is located in Åre municipality in the westernmost part of Undersåker parish, just a few hundred metres south of the border with Åre parish.
The station takes its name from the mountain where the cottage is located, Blåhammarfjället, whose highest peak Blåhammarkläppen reaches 1,164 metres above sea level.
The station was established in 1912 but burnt down in 1923, after which the buildings were rebuilt.
The facility has 56 beds, but can accommodate many more residents in dormitories and on floor beds. The main building contains a restaurant and a shop.
Blåhammaren is one of the stations in the Jämtland Triangle, which runs between Storulvån, Sylarna and Blåhammaren. The three stretches can be covered on skis in winter and on foot in summer. Hiking trails start in Blåhammaren in many different directions, including to Rundhögen, Sylstationen and Storeriksvollen.
