Nong Nooch Tropical Garden
Facts and practical information
Nong Nooch Tropical Garden is a verdant oasis and a top attraction nestled in the heart of Pattaya, Thailand. Spanning over 500 acres, this meticulously landscaped park is more than just a garden; it's a celebration of flora, culture, and the arts. Established in the 1950s by Mr. Pisit and Mrs. Nongnooch Tansacha, the garden was initially intended to be a fruit plantation. However, the owners were inspired by the world's great gardens and decided to transform it into a tropical botanical garden instead.
Today, Nong Nooch Tropical Garden is renowned for its vast array of plant species, including several types of orchids, palms, cycads, and other tropical flora. The garden is also famous for its themed gardens, such as the 17th-century French garden, the European Renaissance garden, and the Stonehenge garden, offering visitors a unique blend of horticultural elements from around the world.
The park is not just a haven for plant enthusiasts but also provides a cultural experience with daily Thai cultural shows and traditional dance performances. The garden's dedication to conservation and education is evident in its own scientific center, which focuses on research and breeding programs.
