Phutthamonthon

Phutthamonthon, a serene park located in the Nakhon Pathom Province of Thailand, is a significant site for Buddhists and a tranquil retreat for visitors. Encompassing an area of about 400 hectares, this park was established to commemorate the 2500th year of Buddhism and serves as a spiritual center for Buddhist activities.

At the heart of Phutthamonthon is the impressive Buddha Monthon Statue, a towering figure that stands at 15.875 meters, symbolizing the year of the Buddha's enlightenment in the Buddhist calendar. Cast in bronze and showcasing the Walking Buddha posture, this statue is a powerful representation of peace and enlightenment, drawing pilgrims and tourists alike.

Surrounded by meticulously landscaped gardens, the park provides a picturesque setting for meditation and reflection. Its wide-open spaces are lined with trees and dotted with small lakes, offering a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Throughout the year, Phutthamonthon hosts various religious ceremonies and festivals, most notably Visakha Bucha Day, which attracts thousands of devotees who participate in traditional merit-making activities and candlelit processions.
