Hammamet International Festival

The Hammamet International Festival is a must-see annual event held in the picturesque coastal city of Hammamet, Tunisia. Since its inception in 1964, this festival has blossomed into a vibrant celebration of music and art, attracting audiences from near and far.

Occurring each year in July and August, the festival takes place in a stunning amphitheater that seats 1,000 people and provides breathtaking views of the Gulf of Hammamet. The event is organized by the Ministry of Culture, which appoints the festival director. Since 2014, Kamel Ferjani has been at the helm, ensuring a diverse and exciting lineup each year.

Over the decades, the festival has welcomed a plethora of renowned artists. In the 1980s, legends such as Ute Lemper, Mikis Theodorakis, and Miriam Makeba graced the stage. More recently, the festival has featured performances by stars such as Victoria Abril, Emir Kusturica, Tina Arena, Anouar Brahem, Raouf Ben Yaghlane, Leila Hjaiej, and the popular French rap group IAM.
