Facts About Green-breasted pitta
The green-breasted pitta is a captivating bird belonging to the Pittidae family and is one of only two Pitta species found in Africa. These birds prefer to inhabit dense tropical forests. One of their most distinctive features is their striking green breast, accented by a black-bordered throat.
Juvenile green-breasted pittas are less colorful, displaying a more muted appearance with a brownish-olive breast. These birds are found in countries such as Cameroon, the Central African Republic, the Republic of the Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, and Uganda. They thrive in subtropical and tropical moist lowland forests. In Uganda, they can be observed at elevations between 1,100 and 1,400 meters.
