Lviv regional Philharmonic - a state cultural institution based in Lviv, located in the Art Nouveau building built in 1905–1908 according to the design of Władysław Sadłowski at 7 Czajkowskiego Street.
The Lviv Philharmonic inaugurated its activity on September 27, 1902 in the Building of the Skarbkowski Theater. Ludwik Heller was the first director of the philharmonic.
In 1906, the Philharmonic was moved to the concert hall of the former Galician Music Society at ul. Chorążczyzna. Bél Bartók, Artur Rubinstein, Stanisława Korwin-Szymanowska, Sołomija Kruszelćka, Richard Strauss, Gustav Mahler, Wanda Landowska and other musicians performed at the Philharmonic. In 1931, in connection with the establishment of the Society of Music and Opera Lovers, a permanent symphony orchestra was established under the direction of Adam Dołżycki. This orchestra operated until 1939.
The current institution was founded in 1962. After World War II, historic organs from the closed Lviv Corpus Christi Church of the Oo church were moved to the concert hall. Dominicans.
