The memorial to Bogdan Khmelnitsky was erected in honor of Bogdan Zinovy Khmelnitsky - Russian nobleman, registry cossack, military clerk, from 1648 - hetman of the Zaporozka army. Organizer of the insurgency against the nobility in Ukraine, which grew into the National-Liberal War of the Ukrainian people against the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The Zaporizhian Army was the founder of the Cossack power on the territory of Central Ukraine.
The author of the monument is the sculptor Pavlo Pavlovich Geveke from Donetsk.
The monument is a figure. Bogdan Khmelnitsky's right hand is raised and he is holding the mace. He holds the mace in his left hand. The knight at the top is dislodged.
