Pozizevska 1882m, Carpathian Biosphere Reserve
Facts and practical information
SZECZEWSKA - a peak with a height of 1822 m a.s.l. located in the Czarnohora band in Ukraine. It rises in the main back, between the Bresku in the northwest and the dancer in the south -east. From the latter, Zamiwska is separated by a pass, which is the lowest reduction in the ridge between Howerla and Pop Ivan. The southwestern slopes fall to the Valley of the Ozirny Potok.
On a short side ridge, departing from the peak towards the north-east and occupied by Połonina, there are buildings of a meteorological and botanical station. Scientific research began here in 1899 and they focused on adapting mountain plants for economic purposes, improving sheep grazing methods and experiments using artificial fertilizers. During World War I, the station was seriously destroyed, and its reconstruction was dealt with by Polish scientists shortly after the end of military activities in free Poland. The opening took place again in 1923 and the station became a post-Botanical and Agricultural Station in Lviv. She provided Polish researchers of great cognitive possibilities of Czarnohora fauna, which resulted in many new botanical discoveries. Currently, buildings standing here were built in the 1970s and 1980s.
In the interwar period, the border between Poland and Czechoslovakia ran through the summit. Through the grassy vertex leads the tourist trail leading along the main ridge of Czarnohora.
