Lago Vista, Texas is a lakeside community located on the northern shores of Lake Travis. The city is located within Travis County, Texas, United States, and is less than 20 miles from downtown Austin, Texas. Lago Vista extends across 15.52 square miles of Texas Hill Country. Just west of the city is Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge, which includes numerous hiking trails and over 72 square miles of protected lands. Lago Vista is also home to several wineries, golf courses, marinas, and performing arts venues. ()
