The Stadium was originally named Bearkat Baseball Complex in 2006 and in 2007 was renamed to Don Sanders Stadium. It is named after the Houston Entrepreneur Don Sanders, who donated $1 million to Sam Houston State University for enhancing the baseball program. ()
