Now, through the generous support of the community, the Ybor City Museum Society opened the much-anticipated Tampa Baseball Museum at the Al Lopez House on September 25, 2021, in Ybor City, Florida. Located in the rehabilitated childhood home of Al López, Tampa's first Major League player, manager, and Hall of Fame Inductee, exhibits characterized nearly 135 years of Tampa's rich baseball heritage. Since the beginning, teams from around Tampa Bay have represented immigrant communities, diverse cultures, and the expression of baseball as a universal language. The Tampa Baseball Museum will enrich the community through children's programming, heritage tourism, civic and economic development, and a fun celebration of the game. ()
