Built in the mid-1880s, it was extensively restyled in the 1910s, and now stands as one of the city's finest examples of Colonial Revival architecture. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 12, 1983, and included in the West Gardner Square Historic District on December 30, 1985. ()
