The Sweetgrass–Coutts Border Crossing connects the town of Sweet Grass, Montana with the village of Coutts, Alberta, on the Canada–United States border. It is the busiest port of entry for both the province of Alberta and state of Montana, among the busiest west of the Great Lakes, and the primary conduit for cross border trade estimated at $CDN6 billion. The border crossing is connected by Interstate 15 and Alberta Highway 4. The United States Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service is located at this crossing, making it one of three main points where all meat products cross the border in Western Canada.
