Piria Castle is a monumental building that was built with the purpose of serving as a private residence to Fernando Juan Santiago Francisco María Piria de Grossi, better known as Francisco Piria, an Uruguayan businessman, famous for creating the seaside resort called Piriápolis. It is located very close to that city in the department of Maldonado, in southeastern Uruguay. It has become a museum belonging to the municipality of Maldonado, under the name of: Francisco Piria Castle Municipal Park Museum. It is visited all year round by many tourists.
