The Casa de Fructuoso Rivera is the main seat of the National Historical Museum of Uruguay, located in the Old City of Montevideo.
The building takes its name after having been owned by General Fructuoso Rivera, the first constitutional president of Uruguay between 1834 and 1849.
As the main seat of the museum, it houses the main offices of the institution, as well as most of its administrative areas. Next to these offices, there is the permanent exhibition, which covers the historical period from the independence process of Uruguay, until the first decade of the twentieth century, in addition to traveling exhibitions related to the museum.
