Climate of Vanuatu
Vanuatu lies in a sub-equatorial climate zone characterized by high air and water temperatures and varied rainfall. Rainfall ranges from 2,000 mm - 4,000 mm, and humidity exceeds 90% at times. Sea temperature ranges from 22°C - 28°C creating conditions for swimming and diving all year round.
Winter and summer seasons can be distinguished in Vanuatu.
The winter season lasts from April to October. It is slightly cooler then, with temperatures reaching 18°C - 22°C, and rains are rare and less intense.
The summer season covers the months from November to March. It brings an increase in temperature to 27°C - 30°C, humidity increases, precipitation intensifies, and thunderstorms and cyclones can also occur. Rainfall comes in the form of intense but short-lived downpours.
