The Santísima Cruz de los Milagros Church is located in front of Plaza La Cruz, with main access on Belgrano street between Buenos Aires and Salta streets, in the city of Corrientes, Argentina.
Besides being a parish, ecclesiastically it is an Archdiocesan Sanctuary, and civilly, the block of the Cross is a "National Historical Place"; besides, the temple is a "Provincial Historical Monument".
This church keeps in its main altarpiece an urunday cross of three meters and seventy-five centimeters high, known as the Cross of Miracles. According to tradition, it would have been involved in extraordinary events in the days of the foundation of the city of Corrientes. In March 1730 it was moved from its original place to this site. The present temple is the third one built in her honor. Since 1806 her feast is celebrated every year on May 3rd.
The Church contains: the Cross of Miracles, its most precious relic; five beautiful and artistic altarpieces from the 1920's; valuable pieces of sacred art; and the Mausoleum of Santiago Derqui, who was President of the Argentine Confederation.
