Facts About Unadorned Rock Wallaby
The unadorned rock-wallaby is a distinctive species of rock-wallaby native to northeastern Queensland, Australia. Its lighter coloration, which gives it the name "unadorned" distinguishes it from other species. These wallabies are found in scattered populations along the coastal ranges from Rockhampton to near Townsville.
An intriguing fact about the unadorned rock-wallaby is that its habitat overlaps with that of the Proserpine rock-wallaby. Despite cohabiting the same area, the Proserpine rock-wallaby is not closely related to the other rock-wallabies in its vicinity. This overlap has raised concerns about potential interbreeding between the two species, which could jeopardize the genetic integrity of the Proserpine rock-wallaby.
