Ruin Thürndl is the ruin of a hilltop castle on the southern corner of a ridge that extends from the Barmsteinen to above Hallein. The site is located 300 meters east of the municipal boundary of Marktschellenberg, which here forms the state border between Germany and Austria, and belongs to the territory of the town of Hallein.
