Werkbund estate in Vienna - a modernist housing estate erected in 1932 on the slope of Roter Berg in the Lainz district in Vienna, which is a reaction to other Werkbund housing estates. The initiator of the housing estate and the author of the urban concept was Josef Frank. The estate was designed by thirty, three architects from Austria, Germany and the United States.
The purpose of building a housing estate was to "show a variety of types of single -family houses and to indicate them as possible patterns for new housing estates. Fully equipped houses were intended for sale. "The estate could be seen as part of the international Werkbund exhibition from June 5 to August 7, 1932. The exhibition was visited by over 100,000 people.
From 1978, the estate has been covered by conservation protection; Has the status of a stationary monument.
