The Hohe Kugel is a 1645 m above sea level mountain in the far west of the Bregenzerwald Mountains at the edge of the Rhine Valley. The summit of the mountain, which is popular as a hiking destination, is located in the municipal area of Fraxern. As a family hiking destination, the summit of the Hohe Kugel is easily accessible even for inexperienced hikers. Popular hiking routes lead from Ebnit or from the Hohenems district of Reute, slightly ascending to the highest point of the mountain. This can also be reached from Fraxern via several variants of hiking trails.

In 2015, a new summit cross was erected.
