Kapelle Heilige Anna auf dem Felde, Lingenau
Facts and practical information
The Chapel of St. Anne in the Field is a Roman Catholic chapel in the municipality of Lingenau in Vorarlberg. It is dedicated to St. Anne and is a protected monument.
In 1722, a baroque chapel was built on the site of a predecessor chapel by master builder Konrad Nussbaumer from Lingenau and master carpenter Konrad Bilgeri, which was consecrated on May 4, 1728. The small central building is a tetraconchos. It is plastered and has a curved roof covered with wooden shingles with a lantern. The square interior with corner pilasters and the conchs has a cross vault. The conches each have two windows with a falling soffit.
The altar is a two-storey, spatially curved rentable structure with Corinthian columns, pilasters and sprinkled entablature and a top with volutes, on the altar two baroqueizing paintings Anna Maria lesen lehrend and Joachim mit zwei Tauben from 1968, inscribed K. Honold.
In 1894, an interior restoration was carried out with paintings by Jakob Bertle, in 1968 a total restoration with a ceiling painting with an allegorical representation of the founding of the diocese of Feldkirch by Konrad Honold, and in 1984 again a total restoration.
