Ferlacher Horn
Facts and practical information
The Ferlacher Horn rises with a height of 1840 m above sea level very strikingly in the south of Ferlach. From Carinthia's capital Klagenfurt, the Ferlacher Horn is clearly visible. The Ferlacher Horn is part of the Karawanken. As is often the case in this mountain range, the Ferlacher Horn is characterized by steep break-off zones in the north, but by forest and - only at the very top below the summit - grass cover in the south.
The Ferlacher Horn is home to numerous legends - ghosts, spirits, even the Saligen Frauen are said to frighten hikers and lead them astray. From the summit there is a magnificent panoramic view of the towns of Ferlach and Klagenfurt, the Drava River, which winds through the Rosental Valley, as well as the Karawanken, especially the Koschuta, the group around the Hochstuhl, and to the Hochobir.
